Alexander the Great was the king of Macedonia. He was born in Pella, Macedonia, in 356 BC. By age 30, he had created one of the largest empires the world had ever seen. He never lost a single battle.
Early Life
Alexander was the son of King Philip II. He was tutored by the famous philosopher Aristotle. He tamed a wild horse named Bucephalus when he was just a boy. He became king at age 20 after his father was killed.
Big Achievements
Alexander conquered the Persian Empire, Egypt, and parts of India. He founded over 20 cities, including Alexandria in Egypt. He spread Greek culture across a huge area. His empire stretched from Greece to India.
