Carl Jung
Carl Jung was born in Switzerland in 1875. He was a thoughtful boy who liked to read. He grew up to study the mind, like his friend Sigmund Freud. Later, Jung made his own ideas about how the mind works. He is known for ideas about personality types.
His Work with the Mind
Jung was a doctor who helped people with their worries. He studied dreams, myths, and stories from many lands. He believed people share a deep memory called the collective unconscious. He also said people have two main sides: introvert and extrovert. His ideas are called Jungian psychology.
Friends and Ideas
Jung and Freud were good friends for a few years. They talked and wrote letters about the mind. Later, they did not agree on many things. Jung went his own way and made new ideas. He kept studying people and writing books until he was old.
