Elvis Presley was born in 1935 in Mississippi. He became one of the most famous singers in the world. Elvis sang rock and roll, gospel, and country music. His shows were exciting and fans loved how he danced. People called him the King of Rock and Roll.

Elvis recorded hundreds of songs. Some of his famous hits are Hound Dog, Jailhouse Rock, and Heartbreak Hotel. He had a deep, strong voice. His style mixed Black and white music from the American South. This helped rock and roll become popular all around the world.
His Life
Elvis grew up in a poor family. His first guitar was a birthday gift when he was 11. He started recording songs as a teenager. Later he also made movies and performed in Las Vegas. He lived in a big house called Graceland in Memphis, Tennessee. He died in 1977.
