Ernest Hemingway was born in 1899 in Illinois. He became a world-famous writer. Hemingway wrote in a simple but strong way. His books are about war, fishing, hunting, and brave people. He traveled around the world for his stories.
His Books
Hemingway wrote many famous books. One is called The Old Man and the Sea. It is about a fisherman who catches a huge fish. Another is A Farewell to Arms, which is about World War I. His short sentences are easy to read but full of meaning.
His Life
Hemingway lived in Paris, Spain, Cuba, and the United States. He drove an ambulance during World War I when he was a teenager. He loved boats, cats, and adventure. He won the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1954. He died in 1961.
