Fred Rogers

Fred Rogers was an American television host and educator. He was born in Pennsylvania in 1928. For over 30 years, he hosted Mister Rogers' Neighborhood. He taught children that they are special just the way they are.

Fred Rogers grew up in Latrobe, Pennsylvania. He was a quiet and shy child. He studied music in college and later became an ordained minister. He decided to work in television because he wanted to use it to help children.
