Freddie Mercury
Freddie Mercury was a British singer and songwriter. He was born Farrokh Bulsara in Zanzibar in 1946. He was the lead singer of the rock band Queen. His voice is considered one of the greatest in music history.
Early Life
Mercury grew up in India and Zanzibar before moving to England. He studied art and design in college. He formed the band Queen with guitarist Brian May and drummer Roger Taylor in 1970. His stage presence and vocal range quickly made him a star.
Queen and Legacy
Queen created iconic songs like 'Bohemian Rhapsody,' 'We Will Rock You,' and 'We Are the Champions.' Mercury could sing four octaves, which is an incredibly wide range. Their 1985 Live Aid performance is considered one of the greatest concerts ever. Mercury passed away in 1991 but his music lives on.
