Jean Piaget

Jean Piaget was born in Switzerland in 1896. He loved nature and science as a boy. He even wrote science papers as a teenager. He grew up to study how kids' minds grow. His ideas changed how teachers and parents think about learning.

How Kids Think

Piaget watched children closely, even his own. He saw that kids think in different ways at different ages. He said children go through stages as they grow. Babies learn by touching, and older kids learn by thinking. His stages are still taught in schools today.

His Big Ideas

Piaget believed kids are like little scientists. They try things, make mistakes, and learn. He said they build ideas step by step. Teachers use his work to plan lessons for kids of different ages. He wrote many books about children and learning.
