Johann Strauss II

Johann Strauss II was an Austrian composer. He was born in Vienna, Austria, in 1825. He was known as the Waltz King. His most famous piece, The Blue Danube, is one of the most recognized melodies in the world.

Early Life

Strauss's father was also a famous composer who did not want his son to become a musician. His mother secretly arranged music lessons for him. He formed his own orchestra at age 19. He quickly became more popular than his father.
