Kobe Bryant was an American professional basketball player. He was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in 1978. He played his entire 20-year career with the Los Angeles Lakers. He won five NBA championships and was one of the greatest players in basketball history.
Early Life
Bryant was the son of a former NBA player. He grew up partly in Italy where his father played professionally. He learned to speak Italian fluently. He was drafted into the NBA straight out of high school at age 17.
Big Achievements
Bryant won five NBA championships with the Lakers. He scored 81 points in a single game, the second-highest total ever. He won two Olympic gold medals. He was an 18-time All-Star. After retiring, he won an Oscar for an animated short film.
