Mo Willems is an American author, illustrator, and animator. He was born in Des Plaines, Illinois, in 1968. He is known for his funny children's books like Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus! He also created the Elephant and Piggie series.
Early Life and Career
Willems traveled the world after college, drawing sketches in many countries. He worked as a writer for Sesame Street for nine seasons. He won six Emmy Awards for his television writing. Then he turned his attention to writing children's books.
Famous Books
Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus! came out in 2003 and won a Caldecott Honor. The Elephant and Piggie series features two best friends who have funny adventures. His books are interactive, making kids feel like part of the story. He has won three Caldecott Honors.
