Prince

Prince was an American singer, songwriter, and musician. He was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, in 1958. He could play over 27 different instruments. He mixed rock, pop, funk, and R&B into his own unique sound.

Early Life

Prince learned to play piano when he was seven years old. By the time he was a teenager, he could play guitar, bass, drums, and keyboards. He recorded his first demo at just 16. He signed a record deal at 18 and made his entire first album by himself.

Music Career

Prince's album Purple Rain became a massive hit in 1984. He won seven Grammy Awards and an Academy Award. He could play over 27 instruments and often played every instrument on his albums. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2004.
