R.L. Stine

R.L. Stine is an American author known for writing scary books for kids. He was born in Columbus, Ohio, in 1943. His Goosebumps series is one of the best-selling children's book series ever. He has been called the Stephen King of children's literature.

Early Life

Robert Lawrence Stine started writing stories and joke books when he was nine years old. He used a typewriter he found in his attic. In college, he edited the school humor magazine. Before Goosebumps, he wrote funny books under the name Jovial Bob Stine.
