Shohei Ohtani is a Japanese professional baseball player. He was born in Oshu, Japan, in 1994. He is known for being both an amazing pitcher and a powerful hitter. He is considered one of the most talented baseball players in history.
Early Life
Ohtani started playing baseball as a child in Japan. By high school, he was throwing pitches over 99 miles per hour. He played professionally in Japan's Nippon Professional Baseball league. In 2018, he moved to the United States to play in Major League Baseball.
MLB Career
Ohtani joined the Los Angeles Angels and amazed fans by pitching and hitting in the same games. He won the American League MVP Award in 2021 and 2023. He later signed with the Los Angeles Dodgers. He is compared to Babe Ruth, who was the last player to excel at both pitching and hitting.
