Virginia Woolf was born in 1882 in London. She became one of the most important English writers. Woolf wrote novels, essays, and stories. Her books look inside people's thoughts and feelings. She helped change how stories are told.
Her Writing
Woolf wrote famous books like Mrs. Dalloway and To the Lighthouse. Her stories often follow what people are thinking. This way of writing is called stream of consciousness. She also wrote essays about women and fairness. She believed women should have their own room to write in.
Her Life
Woolf grew up in a big family with lots of books. She was taught at home by her parents. As an adult she lived in a part of London called Bloomsbury. She and her friends talked about art and books and became known as the Bloomsbury Group. Woolf died in 1941.
