Mice as Pets
Mice might be small, but they make big impressions as pets. Pet mice, called fancy mice, are friendly and curious. They come in many colors and patterns. Mice are smart little animals that can learn their names and even run obstacle courses.
Smart Little Creatures
Mice are much smarter than people think. They can learn to come when you call them. They enjoy running through mazes and solving puzzles. Mice can even learn to do simple tricks with a bit of patience and tasty treats as rewards.
Mouse Care
Pet mice need a cage with soft bedding, a wheel, and places to hide. Female mice do well in groups, but males prefer to live alone. Mice eat special mouse food, seeds, and small bits of fruit and vegetables. They are most active in the evening, so that is the best time to play with them.
Fun Facts
- Mice can squeeze through a gap as small as a pencil width.
