Robots
Robots are machines that can do tasks on their own or with remote control. Some robots build cars in factories. Others explore Mars or the deep ocean. Some robots even help doctors perform surgery. Robots can do things that are too dangerous, too difficult, or too boring for humans. They come in all shapes and sizes.
How Robots Work
A robot has three main parts. Sensors let it detect the world around it, like eyes and ears. A computer brain processes the information and decides what to do. Actuators are the motors and parts that make the robot move. Programmers write the instructions that tell robots what to do.
Robots in Our World
Robots are everywhere. Factory robots build cars and electronics. Roomba robots vacuum floors. Drones are flying robots used for photography and deliveries. Surgical robots help doctors operate with tiny precise movements. Space robots like rovers explore other planets. Some robots even look and act like people.
Fun Facts
- The word robot comes from a Czech word meaning forced labor.
- The Mars rover Curiosity has been exploring Mars since 2012 and is still going.
- Some robots can learn new things using artificial intelligence.
Did You Know?
There are tiny robots called nanobots that are smaller than a grain of sand. Scientists are developing nanobots that could travel inside your body to deliver medicine directly to sick cells or clean out blocked blood vessels. Medical nanobots could change how we treat diseases in the future!
