Cricket
Cricket is a fun sport played with a bat and a ball. Two teams take turns to bat and bowl. The team that scores the most runs wins the game. Cricket is loved by millions of people all over the world. It is very popular in places like England, India, Australia, and Pakistan.
How the Game Is Played
Cricket is played on a big grass field. In the middle there is a long strip called the pitch. One team bats and tries to score runs. The other team bowls and tries to get the batters out. A bowler throws the ball at three sticks called stumps. The batter uses a flat wooden bat to hit the ball away. Then the batter runs to the other end to score a run.
Types of Cricket Games
There are many kinds of cricket matches. Test matches are the longest and can last five days. One Day games are much shorter and finish in one day. T20 games are the fastest and last about three hours. Kids often play a fun version with soft balls in parks and backyards. Big teams from many countries play in a huge event called the World Cup.
