Netball
Netball is a fun team sport played all over the world. It is a lot like basketball, but with some big differences. Players cannot run while holding the ball and cannot dribble it. Teams pass the ball quickly to move it to their goal. Netball is very popular with girls and women, but boys play it too.
How to Play
A netball team has seven players on a court. Each player has a special position and can only go to certain parts of the court. To score, a player must throw the ball through a ring that has no backboard. Only two players from each team can try to score. Games have four quarters of 15 minutes each.
History of Netball
Netball started in England in the 1890s. It came from a version of basketball made for women. Soon, the sport spread to countries like Australia, New Zealand, and Jamaica. Today, it is very popular in those places. Big netball events like the Commonwealth Games bring teams together from around the world.
