Shot Put

The shot put is a strong and powerful sport. Athletes try to throw a heavy metal ball called a shot. But instead of throwing it, they push it from their neck. It takes big arm and leg muscles to do it well.

How to Push

The athlete stands in a small circle and holds the shot near their chin. They spin or slide across the circle to build up speed. Then they push the shot forward and up into the air. The ball must land inside a marked area.
