Strongman Competitions

Strongman competitions are all about pure strength. Athletes lift huge stones, pull trucks, and carry heavy objects. The strongest men and women in the world compete to see who can lift and move the heaviest things.

Events in Strongman

Strongman competitions have many exciting events. In the Atlas Stones, athletes lift round stones that can weigh over 300 pounds onto tall platforms. In the deadlift, they pick up incredibly heavy barbells.

Other events include pulling a truck with a rope, carrying heavy objects while walking, and pressing big logs over their heads. Each event tests a different kind of strength. Athletes have to be strong all over their bodies.

Training to Be Strong

Strongman athletes train very hard. They lift weights almost every day. They eat a lot of food to fuel their muscles. Some eat over 10,000 calories a day, which is about five times what most kids eat.

The World's Strongest Man competition is the most famous event. It has been held since 1977 and is shown on TV. Women also compete in strongwoman events. These athletes are some of the most impressive people in all of sports.
