Tag

Tag is one of the most popular games kids play outside. One person is "it" and chases everyone else. When you get touched, you become the new "it."

How to Play

The game starts when one player is picked to be "it." That player counts while everyone else runs away. Then "it" chases the other players and tries to tag them by touching them. When someone gets tagged, they become the new "it." The game keeps going until everyone is tired or wants to stop.

There are no teams in regular tag. Everyone plays on their own. You can play tag almost anywhere there is room to run.

Types of Tag

There are many fun versions of tag. In freeze tag, you have to stand still when you get tagged. A friend can unfreeze you by touching you. In TV tag, you are safe if you shout the name of a TV show when tagged.

Shadow tag is played on sunny days. Instead of touching a person, "it" has to step on their shadow. There are hundreds of ways to play tag, and kids keep inventing new ones.
