How It Works
First, many countries play games to try to make it to the World Cup. Only 32 teams make it to the final tournament. Starting in 2026, it will be 48 teams. The teams play in groups and then in knockout rounds. The last game is called the final, and the winner is the champion.
History of the Cup
The first World Cup was held in 1930 in Uruguay. Brazil has won the most World Cups, with five titles. Germany, Italy, and Argentina have also won many times. Famous players like Pele, Maradona, and Messi have all played in the World Cup. It is one of the most loved sports events ever.
