How Computers Work
How Computers Work
A computer is a machine that can store and work with information. It follows instructions to do tasks really fast. Computers can add millions of numbers in one second. People use computers for school, work, games, and much more.
Input, Process, Output
Computers work in three main steps. First, they take in information called input. Then they process it, which means they follow instructions. Finally, they give back a result called output. When you type on a keyboard, that is input. What shows on the screen is output.
Computers Are Everywhere
Computers are not just laptops and desktops. They are inside phones, cars, and even refrigerators. A smartwatch has a tiny computer inside it. Traffic lights use computers to know when to change colors. Computers help make our lives easier every day.
