There are many types of motorcycles. Sport bikes are built for speed and racing. Cruisers are comfortable for long rides on the highway. Dirt bikes have knobby tires for riding on trails and dirt roads. Touring bikes are big and have room for luggage on long trips.

Motorcycle riders must wear helmets to protect their heads. Many riders also wear special jackets, gloves, and boots made of leather or tough fabric.
