Dexter's Laboratory is an animated TV show that aired on Cartoon Network from 1996 to 2003. It follows Dexter, a boy genius with a thick accent who has a massive secret laboratory hidden behind his bookshelf. His tall, ditzy sister Dee Dee constantly breaks into his lab and causes chaos. The show was one of Cartoon Network's first original series.

Dexter's laboratory is enormous and hidden inside his house. It is filled with inventions, robots, and experiments. His parents somehow never discover it. Dee Dee loves dancing through the lab and pressing buttons, which always ruins Dexter's work. Dexter's catchphrase is Dee Dee, get out of my laboratory.

Dexter's Laboratory was created by Genndy Tartakovsky, who also made Samurai Jack and helped create The Powerpuff Girls. The show was one of the first Cartoon Network originals and helped define the network's style. Its mix of smart humor and slapstick comedy appealed to kids and adults alike.
