Pokemon Show
The Pokemon animated series first aired in Japan in 1997 and quickly became a global phenomenon. It follows Ash Ketchum, a young boy from Pallet Town who dreams of becoming a Pokemon Master. With his partner Pikachu, Ash travels the world catching Pokemon, battling gym leaders, and making friends along the way.
Ash and Pikachu
Ash received Pikachu as his first Pokemon from Professor Oak. At first Pikachu did not listen to Ash, but they quickly became best friends. Together they have traveled through many regions including Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, and Sinnoh. Ash is joined by different friends in each region.

The Pokemon anime has over 1,000 episodes and more than 20 movies. It helped make Pokemon one of the biggest media franchises in history. Team Rocket, featuring Jessie, James, and Meowth, are lovable villains who try to steal Pikachu in nearly every episode. In 2023, a new series began following new characters.
