Scooby-Doo is an animated TV show that first aired in 1969. It follows Scooby-Doo, a talking Great Dane, and his group of mystery-solving friends. The gang travels in a van called the Mystery Machine. They investigate spooky places and always discover that the ghost or monster is really a person in a costume.

Scooby-Doo's best friend is Shaggy, a goofy guy who is always hungry and scared. Fred is the brave leader. Daphne is stylish and adventurous. Velma is the smart one who figures out the clues. Together they form Mystery Incorporated.
Solving Mysteries
In every episode, the gang visits a spooky location and encounters a monster. They search for clues and set traps. At the end, they unmask the villain who says I would have gotten away with it too if it weren't for you meddling kids. Scooby and Shaggy are usually motivated by Scooby Snacks.

Scooby-Doo was created partly to give kids a mystery show that was not too scary. The creators always made sure the monsters turned out to be ordinary people in disguise, teaching kids that there is usually a logical explanation for things that seem frightening!
